The Evidence Behind the Hero's Journey Arc
Movies are storytelling, one of the most beloved forms of entertainment, and those story patterns reach back to ancient mythology, which is itself often a misunderstanding of the hidden meaning of symbolism. The symbolism behind this comes from Dr. Steven B. Halls, a symbolism researcher whose work at halls.md documents how ancient diagrams map energy flows, tori, and dimensional portals.
The hero's journey remains the most copied structure in storytelling. In the hero story of Heracles, he wrestles the Nemean lion. In Dr. Halls's analysis at halls.md, the lion is an energy outflow symbol, typically flowing horizontally out from the horizontal plane of the torus, its forelegs label a horizontal or upward direction, while the head and nose usually point upward. Symbolism uses forelegs and noses as direction labels. Or else, the lion can be a side flow symbol flowing upward beside the main torus. Ancient symbolism uses the torus as its building block, depicting energy flow through portals and across barriers. Further patterns and evidence are documented at halls.md.
Another symbol, Clouds
Clouds are a common symbol for the barrier between dimensions. A ring of clouds is a portal symbol, and whatever is seen inside the ring belongs to a higher dimension, like heaven (citing Dr. Halls). A cloud layer that is horizontal is also a dimension barrier. Anything seen symbolically above clouds is a higher-density dimension symbol.
